The City of Marion has several internal and cross governmental board appointments that local residents may join. Boards are a great way to stay active and directly impact the present and future of our community. Apart from the city boards found elsewhere on this website, here are a few joint governmental boards with appointments made by the City:
- City/County Park Board - The City appoints 3 members of the 6 member board. They have the responsibility to maintain the City/County Park.
- City/County Airport Commission - The City appoints 3 members of the 6 member board. They have the responsibility to maintain the City/County Airport.
- Crittenden County 911 Commission - The City appoints 3 members of the 7 member board. A 4th member is appointed in rotation with the County. The Board is responsible to maintain 911 serivces for greater Crittenden County.
- Crittenden County Board of Equalization - The City appoints 1 member of the 3 member board. They have the responsibility of reviewing and hearing complaints associated with local tax bodies.
- Pennyrile Area Development District - The City appoints 1 member of the PADD Board of Directors. Their website made be viewed at peadd.org.
- Marion Recreation, Tourist and Convention Commission - The City appoints all 7 of the commission members, however, several are appointed from among specific community organizations. The Commission's website site may be found at marionkentucky.org.
